December 28th 2007

It's a girl!
We had our 20 week ultrasound (xmas gift) on the 27th. All her measurements were on track as well as that healthy heartbeat I always wait to hear. We got to see her little bladder that had developed and also all four chambers of her heart. She was practically dancing around in there and has some very long legs! :) I have been able to feel those little legs now the last 3 weeks or so. Everyday its more frequent and just that much harder. I love it...hopefully pretty soon here Drew will be able to feel it from on top of my belly, he tries everyday.
The only bunk news was that my placenta is sitting slightly low. The doctor said to take it easy the next few days while she runs the report by the specialist. She seems to think it shouldn't be a big deal, but just wants to be 100% sure.
Miles thinks it's pretty cool he will have a little sister. Of course my mom is very excited too and we are very lucky that she saved all my little sister's clothes. I told her to keep on shopping at Nordstrom. ;)
We decided on a name..this was very difficult for me. I had a few boys names picked out, but always only liked Marly for a girl. No matter how many times I read outloud & repeated every darn girl name in my book (of over 10,000 names) nothing else fit. Luckily for me Drew loved it as well. So, we decided last night she would be Marly Jean. Jean is both my grandmother & mom's middle name.
Here are two of the best ultrasound pics from yesterday. The first is of those long legs/feet and the second she is looking right at you with her eyes open.

Enjoy!

November 27th Appointment

We had the follow up appointment to our sequential screening. It was brief, only to hear a heartbeat and draw more blood. We were excited to schedule our appointment to find out the sex. So, our Christmas present will be to find out we're having a boy/girl on December 27th. Looking forward to the 32 oz of water I get to pound before the appointment. All I know is with the way things are going these days, if they expect me to hold it they better get me in that ultrasound room right after I check in. I hear it's tough~All worth it of course! :)

Here is a picture of me taken on Thanksgiving. Michele and I braved the mall that weekend to go maternity shopping. I got my frist round of comfortable clothes. I'm trying to hold off on wearing them a few more weeks. We'll see, my work pants are about to split when I sit down.

Anyhoo...that's about it for now. I'm feeling great. Drew is keeping me well fed without any rediculous weight gain. (yet) We are both enjoying being pregnant :)
